DESCRIPTION
We have an opening for a Plant Cost Accountant at our Dallas, GA facility.
The ideal candidate will possess an associate or bachelor’s Degree (in Accounting or Finance preferred) and 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment including staff management while using their strong communication skills to interact with all levels of plant personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
Primary job duties involve utilizing advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Application of ERP system knowledge in daily operations and analyze production and operational costs. Reconciling raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods stock. Overseeing physical inventory counts and analyze inventory reserves for potential shortfalls. Comparing standard manufacturing costs to actual production costs, investigating and explaining the reasons behind price or efficiency variances.
The ideal candidate should possess experience in all cost accounting disciplines while fostering a positive work environment. They should have strong Excel skills, ERP experience, as well as inventory, and staff management experience.
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they apply to inventory valuation and manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
